Performance Introduction
1.Between the fingers
The length of this song is circa 3 minutes. The source material is the sound of violin’s string, drums, human, and tech etc. Its concept is to express music in instrumentalist’s hands is on the move, move up and down, and collide with each other. It opens numerously spaces and brings people to ultra-dimensional imagination.
2.Hu Talks
The song takes the 2-second erhu fiddle as source material, and it’s varied to a communicative way like conversations. The position of music keeps changing. It seems like two huqins’ talking, arguing, and it fills with motion and musical attitude. Finally, it’s the end of the conversation. The coda presents the second topic, it shows unwillingness to leave and still wants to talk more, but it is the end.
3.Kyoto Impression
The concept of the creation used Japanese musical drama and festivals music as source material. It keeps track of author’s impression when traveling to Kyoto in 2010.

The song is circa 5 minutes. It mixes the source material to present memory-like surreal feeling, and it seems like exploring with author’s steps through different speed of music.

HUANG, Po-Chih

CV
He was born in Tao Yuen, Taiwan, in 1980. He studies in Graduate School of Art and Technology, Taipei National University of the Art. His works were mainly graphics and paintings, but now are mostly audio-visual works. Although he uses digital tech tools, works’ qualities are as exquisite as “hand-made”.

Works Introduction
My works is through misusing scanner to produce dynamic image and sound, and find the new esthetic possibility by away from usual ways. The image’s content pays close attention to human’s body and life experiences, such as death, love, fear, and the descriptions of personal conscious etc. I also use a lot of painting specialties, poetry, movie, or part of novel as a foundation, and then it becomes a method to create works. I use it to re-create life experience and trace the experiences keep passing. I hope in the way back into painting esthetics, I can recall my slight body politics and mental conscious by engaging myself in it.
